Bom Napalm Model Vietnam Digunakan Melawan Kaum Tani Indonesia: Statemen Solidaritas Kepada Warga Dusun Suluk Bongkal

Pada tanggal 18 Desember, pihak kepolisian Indonesia, yang mewakili kepentingan PT. Arara Abadi (sebuah perusahaan kertas and pulp), menyerbu warga dusun Suluk Bongkal di Sumatra yang sedang berjuang mempertahankan lahannya dari serobotan PT. Arara Abadi. Dengan dilengkapi pentungan, water canon, dan senjata api, serta dukungan preman-preman bayaran, sekitar 500 pasukan polisi menerobos barisan yang dibentuk oleh ibu-ibu dan anak-anak yang berdiri di jalan masuk desa. Lalu mereka menembaki warga dengan peluru karet dan gas air mata, memukuli mereka dengan kejam, dan membakari rumah-rumah warga dengan bom napalm yang dijatuhi dari 2 helikopter. Represi ini bukan hanya mengakibatkan banyak warga yang terluka tetapi juga meninggalnya seorang anak berumur 2 tahun (yang bernama Fitri) yang jatuh ke dalam sumur akibat lari ketakutan.


Dari laporan terakhir, sekitar 200 warga termasuk aktivis-aktivis Serikat Tani Riau ditahan dan lebih dari 400 warga sampai sekarang masih berada ditengah hutan bersembunyi dari represi polisi. Pihak kepolisian telah
menambah pasukannya, dengan ribuan polisi dan preman berjaga-jaga dan mengejar para warga dan aktivis-aktivis Serikat Tani Riau.

Ratusan warga desa Suluk Bongkal diteror, 700-an rumah mereka habis terbakar, tanah pertanian dan alat produksi mereka tak terselamatkan, dan satu anak umur 2 tahun kehilangan nyawanya. Ini semua demi kepentingan PT.
Arara Abadi yang ingin mengklaim tanah seluas 5 ribu hektar ini yang merupakan tanah milik rakyat.

PT Arara Abadi adalah subsidiari divisi perhutanan di Sumatra dari Sinar Mas Group, salah satu konglomerat terbesar di Indonesia yang dimiliki oleh kapitalis nasional Eka Tjipta Widjaja. Perusahaan ini adalah bagian dari
Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) yang merupakan korporasi multinasional dan salah satu perusahaan pulp dan kertas terbesar di dunia yang memiliki klien di lebih dari 60 negara. Disini kita lihat dengan jelas seribu benang yang
mengikat kaum borjuasi nasional Indonesia dengan modal asing, dan bahwa aparatus negara Indonesia adalah tidak lebih dari alat represi dari kekuatan modal nasional dan modal asing, dalam kata lain alat represi dari
kapitalisme.

Dengan krisis ekonomi global ini, seperti halnya banyak perusahaan lainnya, harga saham APP telah jatuh hampir 75% dalam waktu 6 bulan terakhir. Ini mendorong perusahaan-perusaha an kapitalis untuk lebih mengeksploitasi rakyat
dengan cara: menekan upah buruh, memecat buruh, dan di dalam kasus ini menyerobot tanah rakyat guna mendapatkan profit yang lebih tinggi. Ini bukan pertama kalinya APP dan subsidiari-subsidia rinya melakukan kekejaman
terhadap rakyat dalam usahanya mencari profit, dan bukan hanya di Indonesia tetapi juga di Cina dan Kamboja.

Oleh karena itu, International Marxist Tendency menyatakan sikap sebagai berikut:

1. Menyatakan solidaritas kita kepada warga Suluk Bongkal dan kawan-kawan Serikat Tani Riau di dalam perjuangan mereka untuk membela hak mereka atas tanah mereka.
2. Mengutuk tindakan represi yang dilakukan terhadap warga Suluk Bongkal oleh pihak kepolisian yang mewakili kepentingan PT Arara Abadi.
3. Bawa ke pengadilan semua pihak yang terkait di dalam represi ini, termasuk pimpinan PT Arara Abadi
4. Menuntut dibebaskannya dengan segera 200 orang warga dan aktivis Serikat Tani Riau yang tertangkap tanpa syarat.
5. Menuntut dikembalikannya tanah milik warga Suluk Bongkal, dengan ganti rugi penuh terhadap seluruh kerusakan yang dilakukan oleh pihak kepolisian dan preman-preman bayaran.
6. Menyerukan kepada para pekerja Sinar Mas Group, APP, dan subsidiari-subsidia rinya untuk mengorganisir mogok kerja solidaritas

Krisis kapitalisme global akan semakin mempertajam and memperparah serangan-serangan terhadap rakyat pekerja dan kaum tani. Satu-satunya jalan untuk melawan ini adalah dengan mengambil sikap ofensif. Rakyat pekerja
bersama-sama dengan kaum tani dan lapisan tertindas lainnya, bersatu bergerak bersama menuju sosialisme.

Vietnam style napalm bombs used against Indonesian peasants: A solidarity statement for the people of Suluk Bongkal

On December 18th, the Indonesian police, who represent the interests of P.T. Arara Abadi, a pulp and paper company in Indonesia, attacked the people of Suluk Bongkal village in Sumatra who have been fighting to protect their
land from the encroachment of P.T. Arara Abadi. Equipped with batons, water cannons, and fire arms, also with the support of hundreds of paid thugs, about 500 police officers attacked the picket line made up of women and
children who were blocking the road to the village. Then they started shooting at the people with rubber bullets and tear gas, brutally beating the people, and burning down their houses with napalm bombs dropped from two
helicopters. This repression not only injured many people but also cost the life of a 2-year-old child named Fitri who fell into a well because she was running scared from the attack.

From the latest report about 200 people, including the activists from the Riau Peasants' Union, have been arrested and more than 400 people are hiding in the jungle fearing further repression. The police have brought in
reinforcements, with thousands of police and hired thugs patrolling the village and hunting down the residents and activists of the Riau Peasants' Union.

Hundreds of residents of Suluk Bongkal village have been terrorized, around 700 of their houses have been burned to the ground, their agricultural land and equipment has been destroyed, and one 2-year-old child has lost her
life. All this to defend the interests of P.T. Arara Abadi who wants to take over a 5000 acre piece of land which belongs to the people of Suluk Bongkal.

P.T. Arara Abadi is the Sumatra subsidiary forestry division of Sinar Mas Group, one of the largest conglomerates in Indonesia owned by the local capitalist Eka Tjipta Widjaja. This company is part of Asia Pulp & Paper
(APP), a multinational corporation which is one of the largest pulp and paper companies in the world with clients in more than 60 countries. Here we see clearly the thousand threads that bind the Indonesian national
bourgeoisie with foreign capital, and how the Indonesian state apparatus is nothing more than a tool of repression of foreign and national capital.

With the global economic crisis, just as in many other companies, the stock value of APP has dropped more than 75% in the last 6 months. This is pushing many capitalist companies to intensify exploitation even more by pushing
down the wages of the workers, sacking the workers, and in this case taking over the people's land in order to increase profit. This is not the first time APP and its subsidiaries have been involved in repression against the
people in its pursuit of profit, and not only in Indonesia but also in China and Cambodia.

Therefore, the International Marxist Tendency would like to make these statements:

1. We are in solidarity with the people of Suluk Bongkal and the comrades of the Riau Peasants' Union in the their struggle to defend their land rights.
2. We condemn the repression perpetrated against the people of Suluk Bongkal by the police forces who are representing the interests of P.T. Arara Abadi.
3. We demand that everyone involved in this repression be brought to justice, including the director of P.T. Arara Abadi.
4. We demand the immediate and unconditional release of the 200 residents and activists of the Riau Peasants' Union who have been arrested.
5. We demand the return of the land belonging to the people of Suluk Bongkal, with full compensation for the destruction carried out by the police and the hired thugs.
6. We appeal to the workers of the Sinar Mas Group, APP, and their subsidiaries to organize a strike in solidarity

The global crisis of capitalism will sharpen and worsen the attacks against workers and peasants. The only way to fight this is to take an offensive stand. The workers together with the peasants and the oppressed layers need
to unite and move toward socialism.
